Matthew has over twenty years of combined experience in psychology, counselling and education. Today, he uses this background to support people to achieve their optimum well-being.
Understanding that our ‘optimum well-being’ is a deeply individual pursuit, Matthew utilizes a variety of evidenced-based therapeutic approaches. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness, Solution Focused Therapy, Relaxation, Meditation and Positive Psychology are among the methods Matthew shares with his clients.
Matthew has a deep respect for the therapeutic relationship, and the unique environment and trust required to work with his clients. He has successfully supported positive changes and outcomes in areas including: depression, anxiety, trauma, grief and loss, stress and anger management, interpersonal conflict, adjustment issues, resilience and emotional well-being, learning difficulties, career transition and workplace difficulties.
In addition to these general areas of psychological well-being, Matthew also conducts Cognitive and Educational assessments and reports for children, adolescents and adults. He also conducts Personality assessments and reports. These assessments aim to provide people with a deeper understanding of their individual challenges and the reports provide practical information and strategies his clients can utilize to help address these specific areas of development and growth.
Matthew is committed to ongoing peer supervision and professional development. He holds a specific interest in career transitions, resilience, optimising performance and psychological well-being.

Marguerite is a Director of Optimum Psychology and Human Resources Executive. Marguerite has an extensive background in organisational behaviour, spending the past fifteen years working in areas including: Change Management; Employee Engagement; Organisational Culture; Performance Management; Leadership; Team Effectiveness; Learning & Development and Recruitment & Selection.
Marguerite has a particular passion for taking the lasting benefits of counselling techniques, like Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and applying them in organisations. Marguerite started her training in Social Anthropology, where she cultivated an interest in understanding the similarities and differences in how we think and behave across cultures.
After living and working in Asia and South America, Marguerite returned to Australia to continue her studies in Psychology and Business Administration. She now enjoys how the three areas of culture, psychology and business interact to bring a uniquely pragmatic perspective to supporting individuals, teams and organisations achieve their optimum.
